Many people ask for a list of foods for Raw Food Diet, a friend of mine was asking me what
she could eat on a raw food diet, and she had concluded that cold boiled eggs and cold packet ham were permitted!
So for clarity here is a list of foods for the raw food diet.
Fruits
All fruits can be eaten in there unprocessed, uncooked, raw state!
Some vegetables are more palatable raw than others- experiment until you find a selection
you really like. Trying to eat raw foods when you do not really like the flavor or texture will not help you in
your endeavours to stick to a raw food diet.
Other foods to eat on the raw food diet include:
Nuts
Seeds
Beans and Legumes
Grains
Sundried Fruits
Seaweeds
Freshly juiced fruit and vegetables
Young coconut milk
When selecting nuts, one should be careful, as many nuts are described as raw but have
actually gone through a heating process to remove the shells, and therefore are not suitable for a raw food
diet.
It is advisable to sprout beans and legumes, and seeds can be made more digestable by
soaking them overnight.
Superfoods
There has been a lot of discussion on 'superfoods' in raw food communities of late-
"superfoods" are extremely high in nutrients and phytochemicals, which are special chemicals
that have been noted to have disease-fighting properties. Basically superfoods are the opposite of junk
foods!
Many superfoods grow in tropical climates and have been discovered
because tribes and populations that live in these specific areas have very long life spans and far fewer diseases
then here in the West.
